BQ76920: REGOUT without output

Part Number: BQ76920

Hi team,

One of my customers is using BQ76920 and they found that the REGOUT sometimes close.

Is there any way that the REGOUT can always have output and what's register should be configured?

Because I am new to BQ76920 and could u give me some advice on this problem? Hope hearing from u.

  • Hi Zoey,

REGOUT should always have an output as long as the the device is awake. A rising edge on the TS1 pin will boot the device.

If the REGOUT voltage is not showing after the part has booted, then there must be something wrong with the device or with the board. You can check the other power pins for the device - the REGIN pin is the input voltage for the circuit that generates REGOUT. Also check the CAP1 pin to verify that it is showing 3.3V.

    Best regards,

    Matt

  • Ji Matt,

    Thanks for your reply !

I have let the customer check the external circuits and find no problems.

So in this case, can I simply configure the sys_ctrl1 register from SHIP MODE to normal mode?

  • Hi Zoey,

To transition from SHIP mode to Normal mode, there needs to be a rising voltage edge on the TS1 pin (see section 10.4 of the datasheet for the full description).

    Best regards,

    Matt
