Hi team,
Is output current clamped to "Output current limitation IOUT(LIM) " if short circuit condition? In this case, does IOUT(LIM) continue to flow until its thermal shutdown?

Hello Ochi,
Yes, the device will hit current limit under a output short circuit condition. The output current will clamp to this current limit value (Brick wall type characteristic). If the power dissipation ((VIN - VOUT)*ILIM) is significant enough to raise the junction temperature to ~175ºC, the device will then hit Thermal shutdown. Thanks!
