Hello,
If the external P-FET controlled by DISDRV is excluded, what is the behaviour of the TPS61178 / TPS611781?
Doesn't the internal N-FET at the VOUT pin stop conducting when the controller EN pin is low (shutdown)?
Best regards
Niclas

Hi Niclas,
The external P-FET is added to completely disconnect the output from the input end during shutdown or output short happens. Removal of external P-FET doesn't affect the normal operation of the TPS61178/TPS611781.
When EN pin is low, there is no switching but there is leakage current from Vin to Vout through the body diode of internal high-side N-FET.
