UCC27712-Q1: Difference between automotive and non-automotive parts

Dear TI Team,

I found that UCC27712 and UCC27712-Q1 are identical on datasheets, except for AEC-Q100 qualification.

In the present case, I would like to know the difference, on your side, between the two versions, in design and testing especially.

I suppose it’s quite similar to the LM76003, so by myself I would say :

Same design/process/assembly lines,
Additional X-ray and reflow test on the auto version,
No PPAP/automotive-grade associated support in case of issue

Can you confirm or comment my guesses on this ?

Hello Sebastien,

From the IC die design and revision standpoint, the commercial and Q1 versions of the UCC27712 are the same. As you mention there is a difference in the ESD test method and also the qualification process is different for the automotive grade components. For ATE production testing there is initially testing over temperature range for the Q1 devices, where the commercial devices are tested at room temperature. As a device matures and high yield is confirmed, the ATE testing will progress to a room temperature testing for Q1 devices.
