TPS61251: Question about Load disconnect function

Genius 4190 points
Part Number: TPS61251

Hi,

I think TPS61251 achieve load disconnect function by the PFET with its body diodes facing each other.

but I'm not sure the symbol shows the actual structure of PFET or means kind of function for load disconnection (like back gate control)

Does it mean TPS61251 is using some special PFET on it?

Regards,

Go

  • Hi Sir,

    The structure of this PMOS is due to the special craft we have for low voltage products. We have ability to control direction of body diode according to VIN and VOUT voltage;

    When true disconnection, no connecting to Vin or Vout

    When Vin>Vout, body diode from Vout to Vin

    When Vout>Vin, body diode from Vin to Vout.
