BQ40Z50: How to configure the 5 LED registers of BQ40Z50

Part Number: BQ40Z50

Hi TI experts,

When I encountered a problem when configuring the LED function of the BQ40Z50, the registers were not configured correctly and only 3 LEDs were turned on. Is there something wrong with my configuration?Or am I missing something that is not configured properly?

So can you show me how to configure the registers displayed by the 5 LED lights of the BQ40Z50? thanks.

  • Hello Zhang,

Can you send your .gg file for the configuration so we can review it? Also which LEDs are light and which are not?

You can use the EVM schematic as a guide for your design, one thing to note is the drive strength of the LEDs, make sure the LEDs will light with the strength setting you have selected. (LEDC0,1)

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller

  • Hi Wyatt,

I am very sorry to reply you so late.
Please check the attached .gg file, the current phenomenon is that only LED1, 3, 5 are on, and LED2, 4 are off.BQ40Z50-LED-2022-3-22.gg.csv

  • Hello Zhang,

Is this the same behavior on all packs or only one? Everything looks okay for the configuration, I'm wondering if something was damaged that is preventing the operation.

Also There should not be resistors in series with the diodes, the gauge has the internal current control which is set using the LEDC0,1 bits. Please test without these resistors.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
