TPS650864: Ramp time of all the Bucks and Load switch of TPS65086401 and DC-DC converters (TPS543B20RVF and TPS566238PRQ)

Part Number: TPS650864
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-01393

Hi,

We are using TPS65086401 along with DC -DC converters TPS543B20RVF (12VDC to 0.85V DC) and TPS566238PRQ (5VDC to 0.9V Supply) to power up our Xilinx FPGA XCZU11EG-2FFVC1760I which requires a ramp time of 200 µS to 40 mS. The details of Bucks used in PMIC TPS65086401 are as follows:-

1) Buck 1 (O/P:1.8V using external mosfet from 12VDC supply)

2) Buck 2 (O/P:0.85V using external mosfet from 12VDC supply)

3) Buck 3 (O/P:0.85V, input(PVIN3): 5VDC)

4) Buck 4 (O/P:3.3V), input(PVIN4): 5VDC)

5) Buck 5 (O/P:3.3V), input(PVIN5): 5VDC)

6) Buck 6 (O/P:1.2V using external mosfet from 12VDC Supply)

7)SWB1 and SWB2(1.8V) , input from Buck1

Please share the minimum and maximum ramp time of output Power supplies in TPS65086401 ,TPS543B20RVF  and TPS566238PRQ . The  output supplies used of all DC-DC converters and PMIC are mentioned above. Also let us know, how we can change/modify the ramp  time in these DC-DC converters(TPS543B20RVF  and TPS566238PRQ) and PMIC (TPS65086401) ?

  • Hi Santosh,

Thank You for using E2E. We will be going through the information in the message above and an update will be provided within the next two business days.

    Thanks,

    Brenda

  • Hi Santosh,

For the PMIC (TPS65086401), the ramp up is internally referenced and not user programmable. The rails have fixed slew rate but the programmed step size has effect on it. This information was also shared on a previous E2Es (E2E-1 / E2E-2 / E2E-3). You can use the the typical tables in the spec as well as the test report from TIDA-01393 for reference. For the other ICs (TPS543B20RVF and TPS566238PRQ), they are owned by a different team in TI so I would recommend submitting a separate E2E so they can be assigned to the right team.
