Hi,

Can the Rext pin on TLC59116 be left floating? There are several e2e posts about this but the datasheet shows Rext = open as a setting:

Please confirm whether or not it can be left floating.

Hi Emma,

No for TLC59116 the REXT is a 'must' component. All outputs' current take the current through REXT as reference.

The yellow rectangle you marked is a test condition for quiescent current when all channel off. You can see there is no test condition when REXT is floating and channels are turned on.

Adding to this, are there any differences in firmware between TLC59116 and TLC59116F?

Hi Jana,

They are no difference at firmware and software compatible.
