LM3409: Capacitive load

Hello everybody,

does the LM3409 will function properly if there is a capacitive load (1000µF) on the output, so in parallel with led.

    Hello,

    You can consider the LM3409 as a current source, so this would be like feeding a constant current into a parallel combination of capacitor and LED. The capacitor will reduce the current ripple flowing into the LED. Normally the large capacitor is fine, unless you are doing specific things. For example if you plan to use bypass/shunt dimming the large capacitor is not recommended.
