TPS62860: Soft start

Hi,

I want to use TPS628601YCHR device with the next conditions:

VIN: 4.5-5.5V

VOUT: 1V->0.15A

According to the datasheet the peak voltage at start is ~1.14V

There is any option to use longer soft start? In the datasheet i see that there is an option but i dont know how to use it

Hi,

TPS628601YCHR is a non-I2C version and it is not possible to adjust soft-start time in this device.

Please use TPS628600YCH, with I2C and then you can set the voltage ramp speed bit and thereby adjust the soft-start time to reduce the Vout overshoots.

Please have a look at sections 8.3.4 and 8.5.5.

Do you need VSEL pins? What is the max current required for the Application?

My VIN is 1.8V-5.5V, Vout = 1V with 0.25A max. It should very cheap and small.

Have you checked our TPS6280x family?

Please have a look at the datasheet: https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tps62806.pdf?

It meets your specifications, but please confirm that the voltage overshoots during load transients meet your requirements.

Hi,

They are ok but there is no stock and i cannot use samples because i need large quantity.

My voltage overshoots during load transients is maximum 1.1V

TPS628601YCHR only is in stock.

Have you tried to simulate TPS628601YCHR start-up with different Cout?

What is the start-up overshoot that is acceptable for you?

I tried but is not good enough for me, and this DCDC very close to the target device and also there there is a requirement for decoupling capacitors. In addition, the ripple is also important to me.
