Hi,IThere's a problem that has been bothering me. Please take a look when you're free.

The communication display about BQ4050 ,SMB(Hi-0,0,N),and then we firmware the same programmer,it shows no communication.

But I firmware another programmer,it shows right,SMB.( with nothing).

If you can ,i can send two gg file to you ,please help to confirm why can apper SMB(Hi-0,0,N).

Hello Linzi,

Check if you have set the XL bit in SBS communication under Settings. It should be 0 for normal communication at 100Kz.

Thank you very much for your replying,this answer is very useful to me.

By the way,I want to inquire another question,what condition XL be 1 can show OK,ex. not shows (Hi-0,0,N). Like i want to 400kHz bus speed,I must to choose XL be 1, I can do what to confirm the communication is OK.

Hello Linzi,

You will need to reset the gauge for XL bit to take effect. Till then bqStudio has no way to figure out what speed to use.

I reset the gauge for XL bit,and then how to no show SMB(Hi-0,0,N), and how to communication normal operation？

Hello Linzi,

Every time the XL bit is changed, reset the gauge and then restart bqStudio. The "Hi" indicates 400KHz communication by bqStudio. 400KHz detection depends on lot of factors including hardware/capacitance on lines. We recommend that you configure in 100KHz mode and only switch to 400KHz at the very end.
