Hello Al,
Can anyone explan the difference between Short to GND detection and Short to Vled detection of TLC592X? we are going tochoose TLC5926 or TLC5927 an would like to know the differnce of the protetion.
Thanks

Hello Knighty,
The short to GND detection and open detection is using the same flag and the same detection method. The part detects an open or short to GND error, if the current through the transistor is below the threshold target, which is typically below 1/2 the set current.
Short to VLED detection means that there is a short over the LED to the positive voltage which is detected if the voltage on the OUT pins stay above 2.4V respectively 2.2V.
Best regards,
Brigitte
