Hello,

I am looking for clarification on what the circled marking is. We have a customer who has purchased these parts and believes that these are coded date codes. If this is the case, can you please help to provide some sort of documentation to decode these?

If these are not the date codes, can you please help me to understand what this means?

    Hello David,

    Thank you for your interest in the UC3854 PFC controller.

    The markings that you have circle are lot-trace codes and do indeed contain embedded date codes along with other lot-related information.

    I'll try to get the specific dates deciphered, but I'm not sure that we can provide general documentation on these codes.
    Please allow a few days for me to consult with the factory.

    Hello David,

    The factory informs me that lot-trace decoding methodology is not normally provided to customers.  Date code information is marked on the shipment box and on the reel label. 

    That said, the part with 15Z02PW corresponds to a lot from May of 2011, whereas the part with 65M755W cannot be located in the system.
    In both cases, the markings are missing our "G4" characters which should be present.  These parts may be suspicious in origin.

    For each part, please provide the STC (Ship Track Code) information which can be found on top of the shipment box or reel packing. 
    High resolution photographs would probably be best.
