Part Number: BQ28Z610

Dear Support team:

I completed the learning cycle and now I have cheching the BQ on my real application.

Attached log file and registers setting.

Thank You

  • Hello Stefano,

For highly pulsed loads it can be difficult for gauging, I took a look through the logs and it appears the True RemCap is tracking more accurately than the filtered. The filtered RemCap uses the smoothing engine to reduce jumps, but the smoothing engine has additional requirements. I think you may be going in and out of the discharge mode, this is causing issues with the smoothing engine.

Make sure your Dsg Current Threshold is also set slightly higher than your quit current. Also please try increasing your Dsg Relax Time to greater than 5s, so we don't keep switching modes and interfering with the smoothing engine.

Also from your log I noticed the RX bit never toggles, this means you will not get Ra table updates during operation of the gauge, so during the lifetime of the gauge it may need to have a continuous discharge without pulses to update the Ra table.

This application report may be helpful for you as well: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slua948/slua948.pdf?ts=1649950570770&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.google.com%252F
