UCC28C43: UCC28C43, UCC28C45 - Is this a suitable MPN for an isolated 48V - 12V design?

Part Number: UCC28C43

Hi All,

I think this MPN looks good for an isolated DC/DC design. The Vin = 18-48V, Vout = 12V, I out = 2.5A. I want voltage control instead of current mode control.

Does anyone have any general feedback on this MPN selection for this type of application?

Thanks in advance,

Joe

  • Hi Joe,

I will recommend flyback topology for this power specs.

UCC28C43 is a current mode controller, and the most of flyback controller we can see are all using current mode control.

Of cause, you also can force UCC28C43 to operate at voltage mode control. (refer the section 8.3.10 in the UCC28C43 datasheet).

Compared to Voltage mode control, Current mode control easy the compensation design, and have the primary current protection.

Why you prefer the voltage mode control?

    Regards,
