Hello TI team,
I'm having issue with one of my prototype charger designs. The issue lies within I think, detecting the battery, whenever the battery is plugged in, no real result is noted, voltage accross the Q1 mosfet to L1 is 3V and the battery seems like is draining itself. Meanwhile at times when the battery is unplugged from the system and the charger is powered, the full input voltage input is meassured accros Q1 to L1 and the board is using power as noted by the heat generated.
Below I will attach snippets of the schematic and layout of the BQ24600 chip, any sort of assistance would be appriciated to see the fault in the design. I sadly cannot supply you with any oscilloscope readings to assist in the debugging of the system. If there is any other helpfull items I missed out please do comment below to add them in/reply to you with them.
Specifics:
- Input Voltage : 28V
- Vbat : 26.7
- Vcell : 4.45
- Charge Current : 2A
