UCC5310: how to evaluate the sink current

Part Number: UCC5310
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC5350, , UCC5320

We were trying to propose UCC5310 to replace UCC5350 for customer, but customer showed the concern on the sink capability. In the Electrical Characteristics table, the minimum of IOL is 1.1A and typical value is 2.2A, while the Figure 8. Output-Low Drive Current vs Output Voltage showed IOL was about 3.5A at Vcc=15V.

Thus, we need to understand which IOL should be used to evaluate the sink current capability. Now customer was concerned that 1.1A could not meet their requirement. Could you please help comment for this? Thank you.

  • Hi, Aki,

We only guarantee 1.1A. If this isn’t sufficient for your customer, please change to UCC5320 or UCC5350.

But, I assume you are trying to replace UCC5350 due to supply issues?

Can you send me an email with all the pertinent details, and we can see what we can do for your customer from the technical side.

    Best regards,

    Don
