BQ78350-R1: stop charging SOC jump to 0

Part Number: BQ78350-R1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ78350, BQ76200, BQ76940

Dear TI expert,

I use BQ78350+BQ76940+BQ76200 design one 11S2P LiFePo4 battery system, when charged battery to full, the relative state of charge to 100%, when i turn off charger, the SOC jump to 0.

Can you help me ?

  • Hi,

The SOC will jump to zero if one of the cell voltages reaches the EDV0 voltage threshold. There must be something wrong on your board if disabling the charger pulls the cell voltages low. What is the voltage on the cell voltage stack measuring when the charger is disabled? Do you see any protections triggered in the status registers?

    Best regards,

    Matt
