I have a design which assuming 12V input
and I need a 5V regulator to drive a Raspberry on board
do the IC TPS566238 able to do it?
Raspberry need 5.1V, 3A min

Hi Alex,
Surely TPS566238 can support 12Vin-5Vo-3A.
Do you need SS-pin or PG-pin? Auto-skip mode (higher light-load efficiency but larger ripple at light-load) or continuous current mode (lower light-load efficiency but smaller ripple at light-load)? We have a family TPS56623x for your selection.
Hi Alex,
Of course 3A is not light load. But the processor may work in stand-by mode, loading current may be as low as tens of mA, then TPS56623x will work in light-load operation. Do you care the efficiency that time? If not, you can use TPS566238.
