Product recommendation for Super-Cap charging

Hi, TI expert.

There is an inquiry from a customer for recommending a device that meets the specifications below for Super-Cap charging.

5V voltage input/output / Current control 0.5~1A / No QOD / Product with reverse current prevention function

Please recommend a suitable product.

    Hey Grady, 

    This is a large current range, do they expect to have it up to 1A? What do you mean by QOD? 

    For a 5V with 1A and reverse current protection I would recommend the TPS7A37 a low drop out regulator (see specs below).

    Hi, McKyla

    The customer wants to review it with a Load switch or EFUSE rather than an LDO.

    It means No QOD (No Quick output discharge).

    - 5V voltage input/output
    - Current Limit 0.5~1A
    - No QOD (No Quick output discharge)
    - Product with reverse current prevention function

    Please check the recommended device with a suitable load switch or EFUSE.

    Hello Grady,

    Our load switch portfolio has a few current limiting devices; however, each one is either outside of the current range you're looking for (TPS2294x) or has QOD (TPS22950). I'll let our efuse team comment on whether they have options that will work with your requirements.
