Hello,
In your design of the demo board, you have populed a diode (D1) between PACK+ of the board and PACK of the BQ (pin 8).
Can you explain its usefulness to me? Because it not recommended in the datasheet.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Charles-Elie,
The main purpose of this is for reverse connection protection. It is not a requirement of the design.
Sincerely,
Wyatt Keller
Hello Wyatt,
Ok.
So, without this diode: it's possible to have a short-circuit through the BQ? (From VSS to PACK pins?)
Hello Charles-Elie,
There should never be reverse current through the BQ, but we often add extra external protection to our designs, especially for EVMs.
Sincerely,
Wyatt Keller
