UCC28740: Searching TI solution

Part Number: UCC28740
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5021

Hi Team,

There is a good new that we could DIN TI product!

Customer is looking for the replacement of NCP12400EAHBB0DR2G  (P2P would be better )

1. Please help suggest TI solution, THX

2.UCC28740 is a good solution?

  • Hi Kygo,

Thanks for the post sharing the good news.

Unfortunately we do not have a P2P replacement. But, yes, the UCC28740 is a good solution.

This is mostly because of the current-mode, secondary-side regulation (optocoupler based loop compensation), optimization for low standby power, EMI dithering, and pin number/package type. The largest difference I can tell is that UCC28740 offers autoretry response for protections from faults, and the UCC28740 has variable switching frequency and valley switching for increased efficiency. The competitor uses latch-off protections with hard switched, fixed frequency.

For another fixed frequency option, consider the LM5021 which has SSR, skip cycle mode, low startup current, with autoretry for faults.

    Regards,

    Andrew

  • Hi Andrew

    Thanks for your support!

But customer protection needs to latch, hold up time needs to be more than 100mS, and AC power off and light load output need to be turned off for 2S. It seems that UCC28740 is not suitable.
