BQ35100EVM-795: 5s or higher J2/J3 configuration

Part Number: BQ35100EVM-795

Hi,

To attach a 5s or higher battery pack to the evaluation board, could jumpers be connected to both 2-4s connections on J2, and the corresponding combination on the J3 block (i.e. for 5s the 2s and 3s pins on J3)? Attached is a figure for a possible configuration for a 5s battery pack.

is this the proper method of using a 5s or higher battery pack?

Thanks

  • Hello Thomas,

You would not be able to connect 2 jumpers (on 2S and 3S) to make it 5S capable, I would recommend reviewing the schematic, if you set it this way it would essentially be set for 2S configuration.

You would need to replace one of the resistors in the voltage divider in order to test higher series cell counts with the EVM. This is to prevent the voltage from going over the maximum voltage rating of the input pin.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
