TPS4H160-Q1: Reverse-Current External Protection, Method2 is not work.

Part Number: TPS4H160-Q1

I made a reverse current protection circuit using method#2 as TPS4H160-Q1 datasheet figure 35

but it is not working.

Input high level(3.3V) at Enable pin but out put power has noting.

when it working when we rseristor change 1Kohm >> 0ohm.

out circuit design using 1kohm resistor(1005 size) in parallel with KDS160 diode

Do you have any idea?

Hi Jungsic,

Could you share the circuit schematics? Also could you probe the voltage at microcontroller output and also at the Enable pin of TPS4H160 to confirm the voltage is lost somewhere in between?

HI Jungsic,

Thanks for the info. It's most likely due to the diode forward voltage drop is too large. One test is to probe between EN and IC_GND to see what voltage you get. If you use a schottky diode with smaller forward drop voltage, it should work in this case.
