BQ25171EVM:About BQ25171- STAT

Part Number: BQ25171EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25171-Q1

I have built a development board referring to the NiMH rechargeable battery circuit on page 3 of the application note BQ25171-Q1 Quick Start Guide, and STAT1 and STAT2 show the waveforms as shown below.
In this case, should I interpret this as a status such as charge complete when both STAT1 and STAT2 are High?
Or, should I interpret it as some kind of error occurs because STAT1 is once driven to Low side?
Thank you in advance for your understanding.

  • Hi,

I believe that the point in time where STAT1 briefly goes low while STAT 2 is high is a recoverable fault occurring (something like VINOVP or a TS condition). This fault is quickly recovered and then both STAT1 and STAT2 go high which should indicate charge complete.

    Best Regards,

    Jackson
