LM63625-Q1: The time of period for current limit in short-circuit condition

Part Number: LM63625-Q1

Hi team,

My customer want to know maximum value of the time of period for current limit in short-circuit condition which is described in P.22 of the datasheet - the datasheet says that the time is a little longer than tOC_active or about 23ms and max tOC_active is 22ms in the spec table.  I think the max of the period for current limit should be longer than 23ms.  Could you provide the maximum value?

Best Regards, Taki

  • hi, Taki,

please see Figure 8-13, 23ms means the first and 2nd current pulse, a little longer than first 22ms.

“. If the short-circuit condition remains, the device runs in current limit for a little longer than tOC_active, or about 23 ms, and then shuts down again. This cycle repeats (as shown in Figure 8-13)

I  thinks you want to mention is the hiccup time should be larger than toc_active, that is toc   like 100ms.

  • Hi Elena,

Let me confirm.  The period of the first current pulse after tss_done timer is tOC_active.  After 2nd current pulse, the period should be little bit longer than tOC_active.  The max value of tOC_active is 22ms and the period of current pulse after the 2nd is about 23ms, so that the max of the period of current pulse should be about 23ms.  Is my understanding correct?

    Best Regards, Taki

  • yes, you are right .
