Hello team,
My customer is considering to use UA78L08ACPK instead of NJM78L08UA-TE1.
But temperature range is not same. (UA78L08ACPK: 0℃~, NJM78L08UA-TE1: -40℃~)
What is concern if UA78L08ACPK is used under 0℃?
Best regards,
Shotaro

Hi Shotaro-san,
The device is only characterized down to 0C, so the concern is that there could be undesirable behavior when operating below 0C that cannot be predicted by the datasheet.
How far below 0C do they expect to operate the device? If it is only a few degrees C below 0C then maybe the concern would be minimal, but if they are expecting to operate down to -40C then this would be highly unadvisable.
Regards,
Nick
Hi Nick-san,
The warranty and operation guarantee of customer's system is -20℃~ and 0℃~. So if UA78L08ACPK is not broken at -20℃~. It should be fine.

Shotaro
Hi Shotaro-San,
-20℃ is a large difference compared to 0℃, therefore -20 is still a risk as the device behavior for lower temperatures is not characterized.
