Does the LM723 have a thermal shutdown feature? I'm curious if the part shuts itself down at junction temperatures above it's maximum rating (+150C)?

This part is over 20 years old so we are not exactly sure if the device has the thermal shutdown feature as most of our other devices.
Are you planning to use an external transistor in your application? If so, it is unlikely you will get close to this maximum junction temperature.

Thanks for the quick response.
I'm looking at using the part (without transistor) in an application that requires low current limiting (20mA or even less). The regulator will need to drop quite a bit of Voltage (about 24VDC from Vin to Vout) so I'm concerned about the power consumption. The environment is potentially pretty high temperature (like 85 deg C ambient). It looks like I might be getting close to the max junction temp under these conditions. I'd rather not use a pre-regulator to help with power dissipation.
Is there another part I should look at that has very adjustable current limiting in this range that also might have better Theta-ja or Theta-jc? It would be nice to be able to use a part that has a thermal pad to help with the dissipation.
