BQ76920: SCD/OCD Register Values During Ship Mode and Normal Mode Transition

Part Number: BQ76920

I am powering a micro off the REGOUT of the BQ76920. So each time the AFE goes into normal mode from ship mode, the micro will go through its init sequence on boot up. Part of this init sequence is writing the SCD and OCD threshold values to the PROTECT1 and PROTECT2 registers.

My questions:

  1. When the AFE goes into ship mode, are these register values written by the micro maintained in the AFE?
  2. Once the AFE is woken back up to transition from ship mode back to normal mode, are the values in the PROTECT1 and PROTECT2 still the previously written values from the micro or are they replaced with default values by the AFE on boot up and then need to over written again by the micro?

There is a gap between the AFE waking up and the micro booting up from REGOUT and I'm looking to understand what the OCD and SCD thresholds are during this time after the AFE wakes up and transitions from ship to normal with no POR previously but before the micro writes to these registers.

Thanks!
