TPS7H4010-SEP: Non-space rated Buck regulator to survive 5mRad

Part Number: TPS7H4010-SEP

Hi Guys,

Good day.

Our customer is looking for a catalog or automotive Buck switching type that would be more likely to survive 5Mrad high dose rate irradiation by Co60 gamma source And has a relatively thin metal oxide layer.

His supply is 24VDC and he needs:

  • low noise 3.3VDC output voltage at 100-200mA output current
  • 12VDC output at 250mA.

I was not able to find any from the products database except for TPS7H4010-SEP but no sure if this will fit his requirements. Do you have anything in mind that would fit this criteria, or at least the closest part?

Thanks!

Art

  • Hi Art,

You mention 5mrad (milli-rad) in the post title but 5Mrad (mega-rad) in the post. Five milli rad is in the ballpark of our low dose RATE for a total dose of 30krad for the TPS7H4010-SEP.   If you intended five mega-rad total dose (not rate), this is a huge dose, and most of our QMLV qualified products are only characterized up to 100krad.  The TPS7H4010-SEP you mention does meet your electrical requirements of 24V input but this device was tested to 30krad total dose at a low and a high dose rates.

So, if this customer truly wants something that is 50 times more robust (for TID) than our radiation hardened space offerings, but want in a commercial devices (automotive qualified), I'm not sure who can help here.

    Thanks

    Christian
