Hi,
What is the measured voltage on ACSET pin? What is measured voltage on AVCC pin close to IC? What is current limit setting on your power supply?
hi
the voltage on Acset pin is 0.8v
AVCC measured - 16.76v
and the current limit is over 3.5A
and Iset is 0,4v - so it looks like the charging should be around 2A - but it never gets that high
pls advise
thanks
Hi,
Was this measured SRN voltage during charging? Can you discharge the battery to around 12V and re-test?
thanks - i will discharge it
can you pls explain what it is i am looking for / what do you suspect?
what is the expected result and what can it indicate?
Hi,
If battery is near charge regulation voltage (which for 3S is 12.6V), then the charger will be in CV mode where it regulates output voltage, and not charge current. In this case, charge current will taper off while holding output voltage constant. Discharging the battery a little will force charger to charge battery in CC mode, so we can determine charge current accuracy.
thanks for the explanation
so this is how we started this question - i discharged my battery to 10v and than watched it as it charged for hours
the current never changed as i expected, it started at 1.3A and after a while started going up,
but the highest it went is 1.55A and after a long while it went back down
it looked like it skipped the CC mode
Hi,
How are you measuring the charge current? Do you have an inline ammeter? If so, please remove this and measure charge current based off of the voltage difference across the sense resistor between SRP and SRN. Inline ammeter adds series impedance which can affect the control loop.
