Part Number: BQ25790

Hi Jeff

Thanks for your support

Continuation of previous question.

1、Whether this issue is related with Vin range?  Customer found there is no problem when Vin equals 5V, and it occurs when Vin equals 9V.

2. is there battery present detection feature integrated in our device?

  • Hi Harry,

Regarding 1, if the input power is high enough to allow for the fast rising charge current to overshoot, then there is an issue.  I suspect if the input current limit is increased to the max with 5V, the issue will present itself.  I have seen it happen with 5V input.

Regarding 2, no.  Like most of our chargers, we recommend using the host to monitor charge status for rapid change between charging and termination. There is a pull down on BAT that can be used to make the rapid change frequency very predictable.

    Regards,

    Jeff
