TPS75105: Need equivalent part in WSON package.

Part Number: TPS75105
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS75100, LP5562,

Hello.  We presently use the TPS75105DSKT, or WSON package, in our products.  My search does not show this part is available as WSON - only BGA.  We cannot use the BGA.  Is there pin-for-pin equivalent available.

Thank you.

  • Hi Tony,

I see there are still some WSON pkg of TPS75105DSKT on TI website available. TPS75100 is pin-to-pin compatible but with smaller current output. I will suggest switching to our newer devices, for example LP5562. Is this projected under mass-production now?

    Best Regards,

    Aaron

  • Hello Aaron.  Appreciate the reply.  We are in production - three base models use this part.  Each model has a variant that is UL listed and hence, not easy to change to a completely different part.

I am searching the data sheet and may possibly be easily missing the spec that differentiates the three parts in the family.  Presently I have programmed 10 mA per output, which is also PWM'ed.  This is for an LCD backlight.  Hence, the 75100 may be OK, being only part available, if I can determine that difference.

    Thank you.

  • Hello again.  OK.  Page 15 of the data sheet, table in section 11.1.2, X in the part number indicates default diode current.  Got it.  Hence, if I read this correctly, the 0 for a TPS75100 is 10 mA versus 5 mA for a TPS75105 if no Rset is used?  Therefore the TPS75100 should be fine?  My apology if this appears to be be ranting.

    That's correct.
