Hi Vishal,

The input current is calculated as (12V*2.2A)/(5V*0.8)=6.6A when assuming efficiency is 0.8. The switch current limit needs to be more than 7A at least. So LM2623 doesn't satisfy your requirement.

For your application, TPS61288 is recommended. The 5Vin to 12Vout/2A schematic is as followed.

In the Reference design that you suggest (TPS61288) , in this design the input Supply is 2.7v to 4.4V and in my application input voltage 5V as i mentioned before so its ok?
