LP8866-Q1: Disable the channel that not used.

Hi Team,

I want to know if we set config = 3ch. If my LED string only used two channel which means that 3rd channel is floating. To my understand, the 3rd ch will sense LOD and let Vboost raise to Vboost_max, is it correct?

1. If we set config to 2ch, but I don't let 3rd ch tie to GND, does it have any risk?

2. Do we have software method that can disable the 3rd channel if we set 3-ch config?

Hi, Roy,

Vboost raise to Vboost_max, the 3rd ch be sensed LOD and removed from the adaptive control. Vboost will then be adaptively changed to control ch1 &2.

1. No risk. Fault will be reported.

2. No, I don't think so.

Can I say the ch1&ch2 will suffer Vboost_max if 3rd is LOD? Thank you.

For this, I have further question. Will the Vboost raise to Vboost_max in this condition?
