Hi,

I am checking on the usage of the PSEL pin of the BQ24292I.

in general case, where should this pin connected to ? Currently i used an MCU pin to do the control on that.

But from spec, it say it will directly take the USB PHY output to do the current detection.

What if my device only do the charging only, such that there is no USB data at all?

Hi Ajay,

You can refer to 8.3.1.3.4 PSEL/OTG Pins Set Input Current Limit, the settings of PSEL and OTG will depend on what input current limit is required during charging.

Thanks, i understand the section of 8.3.1.3.4.

My question is do you have some example of what the USB PHY output? i am not very familiar with that, so lets see if any example could be reference.

Hi,

A USB PHY device usually has the input current limit detection circuity in the system and its output decides whether the input is USB host or charging port. Please feel free to search online for more information.
