Hi Team,

Our customer downloaded the TPS3899 model on the product page but was unable to import these model into his system.

I have instructed the customer to follow this: https://training.ti.com/pspice-ti-3rd-party-model-import, https://www.ti.com/lit/an/sloa070/sloa070.pdf, and to try clicking the DSN file, then 'Generate part' to no avail.

The customer encountered "modeled.exe" and the Error(ORCAP-2398) as seen below:

The customer is using PSpice for TI ver 17.4-2022 S008 win spb 64-bit. and TINA-TI is not an option for the customer (he needs to include non-ti parts).

Can you help?

Hi Marvin,

The TPS3899 pspice model is already included in the PSPICE for TI ver 17.4-2022 S008.

Hi Jesse,

I also use the same Pspice version but I can find the other two symbols.

Can you share how to update the libraries? I tried HELP > REINSTALL TI MODELS AND LIBRARIES but I am still unable to find the library.

How can I install the model from the TI site correctly?

Hi Marvin,

Open the DSN file from the folder of the downloaded pspice model and when PSPICEforTI opens it will ask to update the library.

Thanks for the help.

I did open the DSN file but it does not show the update pop up window in your picture. Is there any other way to add this symbol? Is there any setting that I have to set on the OPTIONS > Preferences/Extended Preferences?

Hi Marvin,

You may have clicked the "always apply library updates" tab before. Please check if the model is in your library now.

Hi Jesse,

Good day. The customer tried all the suggested solutions above to no avail.

They have already tried to update the library by clicking the "Yes" option from the pop up window during the start of Pspice for TI. They also tried to add the symbol manually by opening the DSN file from the folder of the downloaded pspice model however, the model is still not available in the library.

I tried this on my system and It works, but on the customer computer it does not. He is using Windows 11 by the way, is there an incompatibility issue with Pspice for Ti on windows 11?

Sorry, but this is beyond my expertise. You might need to contact the team in-charge of PSPICEforTI to check for compatibility issues.

Hi Marvin,

Please do not Reinstall TI Models and Libraries. Please do not manually add TI models to the library. PSpice for TI will handle all updates automatically.

Please wait at least 24 hours and try launching PSpice for TI. The tool checks for model updates once daily. It is possible that you have already clicked "Not at this time" for today, so please wait until tomorrow. If that does not work, you can try this tip from Jesse again tomorrow: "Open the DSN file from the folder of the downloaded pspice model and when PSPICE for TI opens it will ask to update the library"

Hi Marvin,

I did not see your earlier comment. PSpice for TI has not been tested with Windows 11. At the present time, only Windows 10 is recommended for our customers.

I updated my library this morning to verify that the model is working correctly. And it wasn't. This is a model problem and not a software issue. Please verify and re-publish the model.

Hi Marvin,

Currently on my set up I have the DL and PP version working but I am also now seeing an issue with the TPS3899dl01 version as well.

The TPS3899dl01 I believe is the model that came with the PSPICEforTI and the other two is the one I downloaded from TI.com.

I will check with our team how to get this synced .

Hi Marvin,

It is looking like the TPS3899dl01 was a prototype of the TPS3899DL and will be removed from the library. Please advice customer to use either the PP and DL version of the pspice model.

Thank you for the response. However, as I mentioned before, the customer was unable to add the PP or the DL version of the spice model in his library even though they have tried all the solutions mentioned in this thread.

Is it possible to add the PP and DL version to the default library that came with the PSPICE for TI on your side so when the library updates, it will be automatically added?

The PP and DL version are actually default now. I just checked on a fresh system and fresh install of PSPICEforTI.

All 3 models are present from fresh install. Though the system was in Windows 10. I currently do not have access to a Windows 11 system to replicate the customer issue.

Hi Jesse,

Are you able to use the tps3899dl01_pspice_trans model? When attempting to use this model, I reproduced the customer's issue on a Windows 10 system. If this model is in the TI PSpice library, it needs to be fixed.

I am currently looking into the process to remove the tps3899dl01 model from the library. The model is redundant since there is a fully functional TPS3899DL model already in the library.
