TPS22925: TPS22925CYPH

Part Number: TPS22925

Dear  TI Team:

My customer use our TPS22925CYPH, they found there is high inrush current exceeding application‘s  initial calculation from VCC during power up. we use 0.1μF capacitance as CL , 0 input capacitance,3.3V input voltage and 290mA inrush current was detected. Could you help analyze the causes AND supply pin to pin impentance reference? Thanks.

  • Hello Liyun,

290mA is still within spec of the device. What is your nominal load current and what is your actual load? The inrush current of 0.1uF with the slew rate control of this device would not have 290mA of inrush current. If you could provide a scope shot of Vin, Vout and Iout it could help solve the issue quicker.

    Regards,

    Kalin Burnside

  • Hi Kalin,

We checked the failure mode with our customer again, the high inrush current is 1.8A,  after changing the defective load switch the current droped to 290mA , 290mA is acceptable in our system. Our VIN=3.3V, VOUT=3.3V, IOUT is about 0.1A, schematic is attached too. Could you supply pin to pin impedance references so we can better measure the resistence ? Please help to find the root causes, Thanks.
