TPS1H100BQPWPRQ1 - Warning - Possible Counterfeit/Fake

Batch of TPS1H100B possibly Counterfeit/Fake?

We received some prototypes with TPS1H100BQPWPRQ1 on them, but the IMON signal isn't performing as expected.

The appearance is slightly different from same IC seen on this forum (Pin1 marker silk versus indent)

We were told the TPS1H100B would be a drop in replacement for the TPS27S100B, but after swapping the ICs we've found this batch of TPS1H100B isn't performing the same as TPS27S100B on our previous boards. Maybe this batch of TPS1H100B is a counterfeit batch?

TPS1H100B - Does this look Legit? IMON isn't working properly. Pin1 = Silk

Here's a photo of this IC seen on this forum: Pin1 = Indent

  • Hi Paul,

Can you please let us know where you purchased these devices from? Please note that TI support on E2E only extends to devices purchased through authorized dealers or from TI.

    Thanks,

    Shreyas

  • These were purchased through Hong Kong Supplier AuLingIC as the parts weren't available elsewhere due to Covid shortages.

We've used AuLingIC many times before with no issue for difficult to find ICs.

This was just an FYI, I don't expect TI to do anything.

The photos may help in identifying fakes.
