I need to design a low cost and simple charger system for Li-Ion battery. It needs to supply charging current for the battery and system power. Charging current may be up to 3A and system current up to 7A. System power may follow VBAT.
I looked at the BQ25731 and want to remove Q1 and Q2, as there is no need for supplying back to USB ports. Please see picture.
I may also need to disconnect the battery for long time storage of the system, either at the battery or at the system power. That depends on the quiescent current of the BQ25731.
Will this be a suitable way forward or is there another more suitable charger for this?
