UCD9224: UCD9224

Part Number: UCD9224

Hi experts,

We did conduct a HCT (Heated Chemical Test) and XRF test on these parts on behalf of our partner and observed the following:

a. Chip exhibited black-topping and part# markings on the chip surface disappeared.

b. XRF showed the presence of Cr.

Please advise:

1. if the reading and existence of Cr material is normal in this component.

2. if HCT will generally cause the part# marking to disappear for UCD9224. What was the print technology that is used here?

Attached is the packing list from TI-Estore and label for reference and investigation.

Appreciate expert advice.

Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Shawn,

Thanks for reaching out to us on E2E. Let me follow up with our packaging team on this one and get you feedback. I will try to get it to you this week.

    Thanks,

    Nastasha

  • Shawn,

I got some feedback on this one -

    1. For part number marking:

The symbol is a laser, so the mold compound is physically ablated and will change color somewhat in that ablation “trench” character that is cut. But that lighter color in the “trench” could be “rubbed off” by some physical agitation and become a darker “trench”. It is not ink used for the part number markings

    2. For Cr material:

Cr known peak is ~5.415 keV not 8 KeV, so I think the results are not correct. There is no Cr in this mold compound.

    Thanks,

    Nastasha

  • Thank you Natasha!
