TPS54334: Output issue

Part Number: TPS54334

Hi,

We are using the TPS54334 in our design and the output of the IC is defined for 3.3V. When i measure the output it is showing as 4.6V.

Below voltages are observed at the respective pins.

Input voltage 5V.

Enable pin voltage is 3.9V

Voltage @ boot pin is 5.7V

Voltage @ comp pin is 0.7V

Voltage @ Vsense is 1.2V

When i observed the Vsense voltage is 1.2V. It is high compare to the actual value of 0.8V for 3.3V output voltage. I believe based on this value switching frequency has to change but i am seeing any change in the frequency.

Could you please let me know possibility of malfunctionality of the device.

Regards

  • Hi Uma M

I would like to confirm some details here:

    1. What is the load of the converter? Would you please disconnect the load of the application and use an external e-load to check again?

    2. Would you mind sharing me your layout? I guess there was some noise here.

    3. Would you please help me capture some waveforms using scope: SW voltage, input voltage, output voltage and inductor current?

    Thanks.

    BR
