BQ34110: Query regarding cell chemistry supported by BQ34110 fuel gauge

Hi,
Will BQ34110 Fuel gauge supports 3S cell lithium polymer battery? 
Because, in the TI website, while filtering the parts based on cell chemistry. BQ34110 falls under the category of li-po cell chemistry supported fuel gauge.
But, in its datasheet and user guide, lithium polymer is not mentioned anywhere.

    Hello Dharani,

    Yes, it can support Lithium polymer. LiPo is usually clubbed into the same group as Li-Ion

    1. Will BQ34110 Fuel gauge works with BQ24170 Battery charger?

    or it has any specific pairing device.

    2. If BQ34110 has any specific pairing device, could you suggest the device?

    3. Is any standalone device driver available for BQ34110? and could you share it?

    Hello Dharani,

    In general, the bq34110 can work with any charger. If there are specific charger features that require something from the bq34110, then you will need to check if the commands are compatible.

    I would recommend that you post charger questions on the battery charger forum.

    Device drivers for bq34110 are similar to bq27xxx which are included in the Linux kernel
