TPSM82822: How to read this part marking? Can any documentation be provided on how to read this part marking? TI data sheet indicates G94 is this correct for this part?

Part Number: TPSM82822

Hi,

How is this part marking on these TPS parts (image below) supposed to be read. According to the data sheet from TI for part number TPSM828224SILR the part marking is supposed to be G94. The part I have is marked with a G914D....401T. Do I have the correct part? How am I supposed to read this part marking? I have dealt with similar DC DC converters before and the part marking matched the data sheet exactly, in this case it does not. Can any documentation be provided on how to read this part marking?

Thank you for your time.

  • Hi Chris,

I think something is not correct.

I suggest you to create a new request through https://support.ti.com/csm for Quality related questions.

  • Hi Febin,

Thanks for the response. I have noticed that the same question I asked was asked 4 months ago. Asked by an Edmund Poon and the response was that the part marking (G94 according to the data sheet) is the correct part marking for the part I provided an image of and the part number. The question was answered by a John Varun. I am trying to find out how to correctly identify this part. One TI employee says its correct and another TI employee says its incorrect. Who is correct in this case? Is there a part number that would correlate to the part marking on my part that is not the one I provided in my original question? I hope you can clarify. Thanks again.

  • Hi Chris,

I am extremely sorry for the confusion. Actually, the device marking created for the core device and voltage spin devices are different. Unfortunately, our internal system is not updated with the device marking of spin version.

I checked internally and it looks like the part device marking you shared corresponds to TPSM828224SILR. 'G9' corresponds to 2A module and '4' (on the bottom) corresponds to the output voltage indicator.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

    Regards,

    Febin

  • Hi Febin,

Thanks for clarifying, I really appreciate it.
