BQ25887: Recommendation for replacing an BQ25887 Charging Component with another available cell balance component or a component without cell balancing.

Hi TI Support,

With the BQ25887 in short supply, is there a recommendation for a replacement that is available with similar capabilities? 

Also, I noticed that the TI battery charging components without Cell Balancing are more generally available.  What is the advantage of cell balance?  Our product uses a two cell 16850 battery pack to get a run voltage of around 7V to 8V (8.4V).  If we drop cell balancing in our application, would this affect our battery performance?  If not much impact on our battery performance, does TI have a recommendation for a component without cell balancing?
