I have read in the datasheet that the BQ24650 IC can support max 10A charging current what i need to do is change specific resistor, capacitor and inductor value according to the specified. what my question is that i have got a development board bq24650EVM -639 can it also support 10 A?

Hello Akanksha,

The maximum Recommended Operating Conditions for the EVM for input current and charge current is up to 8 A.

I have one more doubt ,On the development board i found a Vsys pin. What is it's use and can i directly connect an led load on it ?Actually What i want is Connect a battery simultaneously i.e during day time solar panel charges my battery and during night the battery runs the load .

Hello Akanksha,

The SYS pin is a rail that is connected directly to the input after the diode D1. It serves as a pass through from the input and will be the same voltage, minus the diode drop. It can be used to run an appropriately sized load.

During the day this pin will let you run the load and charge the battery. However this assumes you do not overload the solar panel, as this will cause the input voltage to drop and perhaps enter MPPSET regulation.

During the night the SYS pin will pull current from the battery through D3.

Hello Akanksha,

The load has to be sized such that it will not crash the input voltage and not force the MPPSET pin into regulation which will drop the charge current.
