LM63625-Q1: /RESET at over current

Part Number: LM63625-Q1

Hi team,

Could you advice if /RESER pin goes Low after tdg time when it hits over current (Ios)?

When load current exceed Isc, it limits the current to 20% of Iomax after tdg time and then /RESET goes Low?

Could you advice how /RESET pin behaves in over current condition?

regards,

  • Hello

The RESET flag monitors the FB voltage.  Any event that causes the FB voltage to outside of the

prescribed limits will cause the RESET flag to assert.

If a heavy load pulls the output voltage out of regulation, the the RESET flag will assert.

    Thanks

  • Hi Frank-san,

    Thank you for the clarification.

I would like to double confirm that the "current limit" in datasheet page17 (8.3.5 /RESET Flag Output) means the

Output voltage drop caused by the current limit forces /RESER pin to Low when Vout decrease to Vreset_Low, correct?

"This open-drain output goes low under fault
conditions, such as current limit and thermal shutdown, as well as during normal start-up."

    regards,

  • Hello

Yes, you are correct.  A heavy load will cause current limit and the output will fall out of regulation

and the RESET flag will go low.

    Thanks
