TPS1H000-Q1: latch-off mode behavior

Part Number: TPS1H000-Q1

Hello team,

Question 1:
An inrush current is generated at startup (exceeds the current limit value). For example, when considering the case where the latch-off delay is set to 0.2 seconds, which of the following is correct?
(1) If the inrush current occurs within 0.2S, it will start up normally.
(2) Even if the inrush current occurs within 0.2S, it latches off after 0.2S of the inrush current.

Question 2:
In the case of (2), if an inrush current is generated, it means that it cannot be used in Latch-off Mode. Is that correct?

Regards,

Hirata

  • Hello Hirata,

Case (1) is correct. If the inrush current occurs within the time of the delay, in your case 0.2 seconds, it will not latch.

During this inrush current phase, it will clamp the current at the setting current and will enter latch-off mode only if the inrush current exceeds the delay time. Otherwise, it will continue normally with no latch-off mode.

I hope this answers your questions.

         Quentin
