TPS929240-Q1: output emi/esd protection

Part Number: TPS929240-Q1

hi team,

Could you help on below request?

1. For off-board LED load, how to design the OUTx protection circuits? EMI/ESD...

2. What's the PWM output accuracy?

3. If no pwm output for OUTx, what's status of OUTx pin? Is it ok to protect from short to external power supply (any limits) and GND?

Dongbao

  • Hi Dongbao,

    1. For better noise immunity, please put a capacitor close to the output pin of the LED driver and a capacitor close to the connector. For ESD, our device protects according to the datasheet. If you need higher requirements, you will need to add external ESD protection circuitry.
    2. The PWM frequency is generated from the internal oscillator which has an accuracy specification of +/- 2.5%
    3. When an output is not needed, it is better to disable the channel for better protection. The maximum ratings of pins are specified in the datasheet.

    Best Regards,

    Ben
