BQ34Z100-G1: High Capacity Cells

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

I have a 280Ah Li-ion LFP cell. If I want to use your BQ34Z100-G1 battery guage, what are the chances that there will be a chemID match with a cell in your database if I use your GPC online tool and send the results to TI?

I ask this because I noticed that all the cells in bqstudio are very low capacity ( so for small devices). I am not sure if there is any possibility of finidng a match for high capacity cells such as mine

Additionally, if no match is found, how much cost and time it requires for TI to generate a new chemID if the cell is shipped to TI, assuming TI can generate the ID for such large cells

Best regards

Fahad

  • The ChemID matching tool doesn't depend on capacity. It looks at the DOD error.

As discussed in the other thread, you'll have to use current scaling to make this work on the actual gauge. But the ChemID match will work with your cell's data. If the tool returns an error because of the size of the cell, scale the current by 0.1x and re-submit.
